LESSON PLAN.
CLASS:Social Studies LEVEL:Elementary 5th.
WEATHER IN COLOMBIA.
TOPIC: Expressing likes and dislikes
CULTURE FOCUS: Colombian geography.
LANGUAGE FOCUS:
- Use of the verb "like".
- Use of adjectives to describe the weather.
MAIN GOAL: To learn about the different kinds of weather in Colombia by using the English language.
OBJECTIVES:
- Students will learn abput the different kinds of weather in our own country.
- Students will use adjectives correctly in an specific content. (weather).
- Map siluet of cardboard or radiography in big size asked previously.
- Colors
- Markers
- Cardboard
- Guide with cultures belonged to each weather (clothes,food)and the thermal floor.
- Pictures of kinds of weather.
PROCEDURE.

WARM UP
The teacher will ask how many kinds of weather the students know here in Colombia joining them with places and cities. After that, the teacher will start to explain the different weather in Colombia and their own culture by using the pictures and giving them previously the guide which contain each weather and the description of all of them.
ACTIVITIES.
The teacher will make groups of three students.
Students have to use the map siluet and start to draw it on the cardboard
Identify the weather and draw it according to the place reflecting the clothes, food,the nature.
CLOSING.
- Students will present their maps to the teacher and classmates saying what they like and dislike of each weather and everything about them (food,clothes,nature,entertainment).
- The teacher will ask if there is any question about the topic.
ASSESMENT.The teacher will evaluate the comprehension of adjectives to describe the weather and the intruction well done reflected in the siluet map and the vocabulary at the time of describing the likes and dislikes.
HOMEWORK.
Investigate the aspects of one weather that the teacher will assign, and make a presentation taking to account, culture, clothes,food typical dance. And then explain what do you like most about it.

HOW TO MAKE MATERIAL WITH LISTENING
STRATEGIES AND TIPS FOR TEACHERS.
- Choose something according to the likes of the student.
- Before of showing the material, listened carefully,so it will be easier to solve doubts.
- Take notes of the vocabulary unknown.
- Teach the students how to take in mind keywords to understand the purpose of the material.
- Begin with easy material then take the purpose and the activities to the next level.
- Prepare the classroom correctly avoiding the distraction from the students.
ACTIVITIES FOR LISTENING.
- Coversations recorded
- Music videos with the lyrics
- Guides to fill the blanks completing the listening.
- Dialogs with the classmates
FINAL ACTIVITY.
- Listen to the song and fill the blanks according to the lyrics in the guide.
- Listen the conversation and answer the questions below.
NATURAL APPROACH
Objective: To improve in the natural speech,taking in mind vocabulary, in order to recognize the meaning of a conversation and to use the vocabulary learned to use it in a dialogue in a real context.
Materials: Small pictures with daily routines.
Activity:
- The teacher starts asking some activities that belong to a daily routine,writing them on the board in order from the morning to the evening.
- After that, the teacher gives pictures in cardboard cut in squares of daily routines.(two by person)
- Then the main activity is to work in pairs and talk with the classmate about their daily routines and how those activities are joined with their own life.
